External bridges are proving difficult to mend and there is a lack of trust in politicians and their ability to help the country escape its troubled past.</em></p>

<p><em>From Vietnam onwards the reporting of conflict has always been complex and controversial.</p>

<p><em>This documentary examines what lessons can be learned from the reporting of the Balkan conflicts that can shed light on the media&#8217;s role during times of national upheaval.</em></p>
